Time has failed me to mention all the techniques which they use to dwindle the members of the public but we are no longer kids, we know the truth.
When politicians come to you with open arms, check it. In the next two years, you will not see them again untill they need your votes.
Politicians are not the worst things that happened to us but to keep sealed mouths in the face of uncertainties is tantamount to heightening the anxiety in the polity.
Let's face things as they are, some people are not supposed to be in politics talk more of being anywhere close to public funds but because of godfatherism and the numerous lies they use to tell, things have happened to be so.
I will not mention names. How many times that we are deceived depends on how many times we accept their bribes at the polls. PVC is powerful but in the case where leaders are imposed on us, it is an utter useless effort. Getting your PVC is not a bad thing but failing to use it is a show of shame.
Safety first; comfort later. Do not allow them to use your head and count scores during campaigns. A lot of people have come and gone yet campaigns continue. Why should you die because of a single vote? Leave INEC's work for INEC if you are not a staff of the commission. Anything that you cannot count is above your capacity. Even Abraham could not number the stars of the air when God told him to do so, why should you count INEC'S votes? Is it your work?
Vote and go. Nobody mandates you to stay and secure votes especially if you are not a law enforcement agent. Even if you are, are you on duty?
It is not a bad thing to protect your vote but if you are not strong enough, do not wait.
Everything is under control; every ballot paper or box is accompanied by heavily armed force men and women but if you think that their strength is not enough, then apply to become part of them. Do not say that I did not warn you; when things become hot, you will not like it. Stay on your own after voting and wait for the results to be announced. You are not the INEC chairman. So, take whatever that comes your way but do not take bribes.
It is your constitutional right to defend your vote but in a situation whereby it wants to take away the breath of life in you, please have a second thought. In fact, what will be will be; plus you and minus you.
In Nigeria, we ban almost everything and boast of it. We ban the use of Twitter, we ban VPN and we ban the importation of certain brands of rice and yet we cannot boast of any endeavour we are into in order to produce the alternatives to those things haven banned them. If not for some of our politicians who are good at creating rice farms online, what would we have done?
Even vegetable farms, they have planted them online but we can't tell if those things exist because the propaganda is too much.
Do not let anybody deceive you; your head cannot stop the corruption in Nigeria. Just pray that it doesn't affect you adversely because if it does, you will be in for the worse and if you are in power, try to curb it.
It is not a crime to be a leader but in a situation whereby you follow the terrain of past leaders who are corrupt, it will leave a sour taste in the tongues of people who know you especially if you have been a man of integrity before. We know that power intoxicates but must it be your lot?
Do not be remembered as an embezzler but rather, be remembered as a good leader who delivered major projects to those who voted him or her in. You were employed by mass voting, you can as well be disengaged by public outcry. Don't let it get to your door post before you know that evil is not good. Be an upright person even while in office. We know that most of our politicians' children study abroad. So, we can still manage our stoves as bunsen burners that we use for experiments in school. Who even cares for our health facilities since our leaders are constant customers at hospitals abroad? So, we stick to our rotten health sectors and accept the fact that most of our doctors are running out of the country to seek greener pastures abroad.
It is laughable because no one person can last in power forever and it calls for sober reflections because whatever you do while in power will always be remembered and talked about whenever and wherever that your name is mentioned.
The monsters you made will haunt you and the bribes you give will stand against you because nothing goes for nothing. Be it as it may, nobody is safe. That is the ugly truth. Even people that travelled abroad were forced back into the country by Corona virus pandemic.
If you like, travel abroad, enjoy all the projects that other politicians delivered for the people in their countries, come back to Nigeria and give high-sounding speeches and make uncountable promises during campaigns, without results, you cannot be remembered for anything. Though it may not bother you, it bothers me because I am a Nigerian. This money belongs to us all but some people have connived with forces of wickedness to make it theirs and theirs alone.
Have conscience, you are a human being! The fact that you are decked in Agbada, Senator wears, Chieftancy attire and Suits does not make you a superhuman!
People are dying in the streets and you are busy talking politics and thinking of how to defect from one political party to another and how to tell lies during rallies, why not stay one place and discover the truth?
Put yourselves in the shoes of the people whom you claim to lead and know if they are enjoying the way you do. I can tell that you are way richer than they are. That is why you share them peanuts during campaigns for them to vote you because you know that they cannot afford it.
Streets are at your back and call. You come to them with mouth watering offers to help you snatch ballot papers at the polls and disrupt the process just for the results to be declared inconclusive later on and for you to be mysteriously crowned the king by cabals you work with only for you to come back to those streets and arrest people while labelling them hoodlums after you must have gotten into office just to show that you are working and that you are stopping insecurity in the state, constituency or region where you reside.
Those you launched weapons for during your election or re-election bid are now on the highway. Thanks to your creativity.
